Aktiv Grotesk
Aktiv Grotesk is a neo-grotesque sans-serif typeface designed by Ron Carpenter and Fabio Haag for Dalton Maag and published in 2010. The font was created to be a modern alternative to Helvetica, with a slightly taller x-height and squarer edges than Univers. The designers aimed to address Helvetica’s kerning issues and add some warmth from Univers, while staying true to the grotesque tradition and achieving a degree of neutrality.

Aktiv Grotesk is designed for digital use and supports 221 languages, including Arabic, Spanish, English, Portuguese, Russian, German, French, Pashtu, Greek Polytonic, Greek, and Hebrew. It’s used by companies such as Under Armour and Cathay Pacific, and has also been used in the English National Ballet campaign.
